Toei Shinyaku Co., Ltd. announced the publication of its 34th international scientific paper related to outdoor-cultivated Agaricus brasiliensis KA21.
The study, conducted in collaboration with the Department of Immunology, School of Pharmacy, Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, investigated wound healing and skin elasticity in experimental models and compared outdoor-cultivated and indoor-cultivated Agaricus brasiliensis KA21.
In the mouse wound model used in the study, outdoor-cultivated Agaricus brasiliensis KA21 promoted wound healing and showed stronger effects than the indoor-cultivated material under the study conditions. The researchers also examined collagen production and changes in skin elasticity in experimental models.
These findings add to the preclinical evidence on how cultivation conditions may influence the biological properties of Agaricus brasiliensis KA21. Further research is needed to determine the relevance of these findings to human use.
Toei Shinyaku has conducted research on outdoor-cultivated Agaricus KA21 for more than 30 years in collaboration with universities and research institutions.
